I'm wondering is there a financial disadvantage of just taking the longest mortgage deal you can (i.e. 40yrs for example) & then each time it's up for renewal don't worry too much about reducing the term. As long as the mortgage interest rate is lower than the average long term return you'd expect on the stock market (say min 6%), is it not just best to pay lower monthly mortgage payments each month and keep the spare m
