About this episode

On February 10, 1984, 10-year-old Kevin Collins left basketball practice in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury neighborhood and began the short walk to the public bus stop. Witnesses recalled seeing him speaking with a tall man with a large dog, and then he was gone. Despite a massive search in the San Francisco area, with his face plastered on milk cartons and the cover of Newsweek, no physical trace of Kevin was ever found. A convicted child predator was questioned by police in 1984 but released after witnesses failed to identify him in a lineup. No one has ever been prosecuted for Kevin's disappearance. Kevin Collins became one of the most recognizable faces in America — a face millions saw at breakfast, and yet no one ever saw again.
