They discuss the race’s 15-year history, its importance to the Nantucket community, and the philanthropy behind the event, with proceeds supporting youth sports, wellness programs and local organizations including Nantucket High School athletics, Swim Across America, Girls on the Run and Nantucket Aquatics. With more than 900 runners and the race sold out, they also talk about the community spirit that has made the Half Marathon such an important part of the Nantucket calendar.
