Miyako Didn't Actually Audition as an Earthbender for Avatar Season 2

About this episode

Miyako didn't actually audition as an Earthbender to play Toph in Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2! She sits down with Perri Nemiroff on Collider Ladies Night to reveal the bizarre "dummy sides" she had to use, her intense stunt training, and what's ahead for Season 3. She breaks down everything from landing the role with fake audition sides to learning Earthbending and Metalbending choreography, filming Toph's biggest moments, collaborating with Gordon Cormier, Dallas Liu, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, and teases what fans can expect from Season 3. Miyako also shares acting advice, discusses growing up in the entertainment industry, explains how she developed Toph's physicality, reveals how she filmed while wearing vision-blocking contact lenses, and reflects on the Season 2 achievement she's most proud of.
