On a lonely bluff overlooking the waters of Green Bay, Wisconsin, stands Sherwood Point Lighthouse, a historic red-brick station with a reputation for unusual activity. Visitors report footsteps on empty staircases, mysterious laughter, dishes washed overnight, and beds made by unseen hands. Many believe the activity belongs to Minnie Cochems, a lighthouse keeper who arrived for a summer visit in 1884 and spent the next forty-four years at Sherwood Point. Even her sudden death inside the lighthouse, the stories suggest, couldn't persuade her to leave. In 2008, a team of paranormal investigators spent a weekend inside the building, where an upstairs bedroom became the scene of their most unsettling experience. Tonight, we explore the history and hauntings of Sherwood Point Lighthouse, the woman who dedicated her life to keeping its light burning, and the mystery of a ghost who may still be looking after the place she called home.
